With water being such a precious resource, WaterfromAir – arose from an idea that we should be able to be fully sustainable and be able to clean a water tank when its full of water rather than when it is empty, so that there would be water left after the job was done, and no needless waste of water.

WaterfromAir services most South Australian areas grown from the need for this service in the demand in South Australia for water hygiene. WaterfromAir utilises a unique pump technology which has been designed to remove sediment and other deposits from the tank with no disturbance (clouding) of the water body and with minimal water loss.

Why clean your water tank?

Sediment collects in tanks from the rain run off from your roof, which includes the dirt, moss, leaves and insects as well as pollutants. It is not uncommon for vermin and possums to drown inside your rainwater tank if there is some kind of way for them to drink the water. This can cause the rainwater to be discolored and poisoned which obviously will affect  the taste and quality, affecting the health of your water. Regular cleaning helps to keep your water fresh, healthy and reduces the risk of negative bacteria floating in your tank.

Throughout the cleaning process it is known that sludge, mud, tree roots and leaves as well as rotting snakes, birds, possums, snails, rats and mice can get into your tank. Getting your tank regularly cleaned helps to keep these nasties out of your drinking water. Sand and silt drawn through your pump can also cause costly damage, otherwise avoidable with a clean tank.

We are located in Adelaide but we are also happy to service most places in South Australia, but due to the size of our state if we are asked to go to distant rural areas then it would be recommended for that area to do a multiple customer referrals on their tanks so we can do all the clients at the same time. It is important to service your rainwater tanks as it is recommended to do approx every 2 years.

What sorts of tanks do you clean?

We will clean all types and sizes of above ground rainwater tanks: steel, poly, concrete, slimline/modular and poly -lined steel tanks. Please bear in mind that we do specialise in small medium and large Rainwater tanks and that some of the very much extremely larger commercial Tanks are out of our scope of range due the equipment needed. Please describe the size and type of tank when talking to one of our consultants.

Will I lose all my water when my tank is cleaned?

Our method of cleaning tanks means that there will be minimal water loss. However, there are times when the water is so contaminated with rodents and sludge that we will need to evaluate the health risks associated with holding on to it. Sometimes, it can be best to dump all the water, clean out the tank and start afresh. But this is known to be the last resort and we will consult with the owner before doing so.
